Somni Solutions specialises in the design and manufacturing of innovative high performance fiber optic sensors. These sensors use fiber optic technology to measure various parameters such as temperature, pressure, acceleration or displacement.

 

The sensors are fully optical and do not require electricity. Applications range from medical monitoring to industrial automation and environmental control.

 

Somni Solutions is focused on providing reliable and accurate sensor solutions that meet the needs of its customers in various industries.

Our products


Our sensors are all Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) based fiber optic sensors. They are robust and have an exceptionally long lifetime. This long life, together with resistance to high temperatures and immunity to electromagnetic interference, makes these sensors widely used in high technology applications.

 

Somni's founders have always fought to produce the best quality sensors at the best price, and to invest constantly in development. We now offer a large and growing number of these high quality sensors as standard (see "Products").

 

We also develop and produce sensors for specific areas such as nuclear fusion and medicine.

Fiber optic sensors are very widely used, from aerospace to energy markets, in civil applications such as health monitoring of vital infrastructure, and in defence applications such as protecting underwater assets.

Somni would like to play a role in all these application areas with its in-depth knowledge of fiber optic sensors. Of course with the aim of helping the customer to solve his problem.

 

Somni sees its role in all these areas, adding its expertise in fiber optic sensors to the customer’s deep knowledge of the application. In many cases this working together, in a completely open relationship, achieves what seemed impossible. Indeed Somni often contributes to the development of not just the sensor but the whole sensor system.

Testing and demonstrating

Working so widely with so many different types of sensors, Somni engineers have access to our large stock of test equipment.

Somni's customers can arrange a demonstration to test the suitability of our interrogators for a specific application.

Applications

In addition to selling standard sensors, Somni has often been involved in the development of sensors for specific applications. Somni aims to apply its in-depth knowledge of sensors to many professional fields.


These can be very different fields of work, such as infrastructure, medicine, industry, etc. Each has its own requirements and conditions. Therefore, when developing a new sensor, Somni always seeks to collaborate with knowledge holders from the various application areas.


This can be the customer itself, but Somni now also has a large number of partners in various fields of work.
