Strain sensors
Strain sensors are designed for applications where there is a need to measure the deformation due to external forces acting on an object of interest.
Several types of strain sensors are available, each designed to meet a specific need and application.
Strain sensors can either be spot welded, screwed or bonded to the object. Each strain is double ended, allowing a large number of strain sensors to be easily wired into a single array.
For additional accuracy, an intrinsic temperature sensor is added to the strain sensor.
Products
SP 39 T
Fiber bragg grating based spot weldable strain sensor.
A very robust sensor capable of measuring very small strains and displacements with high accuracy.
Also has built-in temperature compensation and can be connected in series with multiple strain sensors or other sensors.
SW 40 NT
Small size fiber bragg grating based strain sensor. Sensor that can be bonded or spot welded to a surface.
This sensor can be configured with a single strain sensor or, if required, can be configured with an array of strain sensors to measure strain at multiple points.
SC 1000 T
Fiber bragg grating based long gauge strain sensor with 1m measurement base (gauge length). Specifically designed for large structure measurements.
Measures strain between its mounting brackets and is therefore immune to local defects in the substrate.
SC 100 NT
Fiber bragg grating based short gauge strain sensor with a 90- 110mm (gauge length) measurement base.
Capable of measuring length changes in µɛ or µm between its anchor points.
